Can I be guaranteed an oceanfront view?

Yes! Every room at Tides Hotel on Folly Beach has a magnificent view of the Atlantic Ocean. Though, please note our rates are based on single and double occupancy. There will be an additional fee of $10 per guest, per night if more than 2 guests are in the room.

What is your minimum check-in age?

21 years of age.

Is Tides Folly Beach pet friendly?

Yes, we are pet friendly. We do require a pet fee of $95 per stay. Whether you choose to stay with us one night or ten nights, the pet fee is a flat $95.

What is your cancellation policy?

Standard Cancellation Policy: Reservations must be cancelled by 4pm, 3 days (72 hours) prior to your scheduled arrival date to avoid penalty of 1 night room and tax. Changes or cancellations within 72 hours prior to the date of arrival will result in the forfeiting of the deposit. Group block reservations require 7-day cancellation prior to arrival date to avoid penalty.

Guaranteed Rates & Prepaid Deposits Cancellation Policy: On non-refundable reservations, the room type and rate cannot be altered. Should this type of reservations be changed or canceled for any reason, the payment will not be refunded.

Contracted Group Cancellation Policy: Any changes or cancellations must be done prior to a release date agreed on per the contract to avoid charges. Changes or cancellations past a release date will result in a 100% penalty. (Room + tax)

Do you require a deposit?

In adherence to our cancellation policy, Tides Hotel will post charges for the first night room and tax 72 hours (3 days ) prior to your check-in date. In the event these charges do not go through using the credit card on file, our staff will make multiple attempts to get in touch with you to obtain a valid form of payment. If we are unable to collect a valid form of payment, the reservation will be subject to cancellation. Please note that once the reservation is canceled, the room is released and we cannot guarantee availability. Should you want to use a different form of payment upon check-in, please let us know and we will be happy to handle that for you at that time.

Why is it better to use a credit card rather than a debit card when checking into a hotel?

With a debit card, banks do not recognize the difference between an authorization and an actual charge and remove all of the funds requested. A credit card will authorize an amount and make sure it is available without actually locking up those funds. The amount of time the authorization takes to be returned to the account depends entirely on the bank with which the account is registered. The return time can range from a few days to almost a month.

What time may I check in? Check out? Early check in? Late check out?

Check in begins at 4:00pm. Check out is required no later than 11:00am. We will make every effort to fulfill requests for early check in or late checkout though neither is guaranteed.

What if I need to cut my trip short?

Checking out prior to your reservation’s departure date will result in a charge equal to one night’s room rate and tax.

Do You Have a Resort Fee?

Yes. Resort fee is $10 per day per room. Includes: bottled water, pool towels, wireless internet, parking and private access to beach.

What about parking?

Parking is available on site and is included in the Resort Fee and limited to 1 car per room. Oversized vehicles are not permitted and therefore must be parked elsewhere. We use a public parking facility for guest vehicles. Please do not leave valuables in your vehicle. The hotel is not responsible for any damages to the vehicle while parked in the lot.

Are all guest rooms smoke free?

Yes. Smoking is not permitted in guest rooms. If there is evidence of smoke in your room, we reserve the right to charge a $250.00 cleaning fee.

Do you offer transportation to and from the airport?

Unfortunately we do not offer a shuttle service at Tides Folly Beach. There are several limo and cab companies we can recommend.

Do you offer on-site laundry facilities?

There is a public Laundromat a couple of short blocks down the street from Tides Folly Beach to which we refer our guests but we do not offer these facilities on site.

Where is Folly Beach in relation to downtown Charleston?

Folly Beach is located approximately 9 short miles south of downtown Charleston. Approximate driving time from one to the other is 15-20 minutes.

What is there to do on Folly Beach?

Tides Folly Beach offers a wide variety of activities. We work closely with several preferred vendors to provide our guests with the opportunity to charter fishing boats, kayak, paddleboard, rent scooters, rent jet skis and beach chairs, get massages and so much more (fees apply). The island of Folly Beach offers an eclectic assortment of dining options, surf shops, activities and galleries.

Do you have a restaurant on site and, does it provide room service?

We have a phenomenal restaurant on site call Blu. Perched at the “Edge of America” directly on Folly Beach, Blu combines spectacular views with a menu dominated by sustainable seafood, regional flavors and local ingredients. Enjoy local favorites and seasonal specialties in this full-service restaurant just steps from our lobby. We provide room service for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Indoor and outdoor seating is available at the restaurant.

Do you have a pool on-site? Is it indoor/outdoor? Is it heated?

Guests of Tides Folly Beach may take advantage of our outdoor beachfront pool. During the cooler months, the pool is heated. The pool is open daily from 7am-10pm.
